EOC Week 6: 5 Ways to Liven Up the Website Homepage

5 ways to liven up the website home page

One way I could get people to stay on my page is by adding some kind of graphic. For example, I could have someone make a gif of me shooting pets. Or I could take a number of photos from a past shoot that are very similar to each other and make a mini slideshow of them.

Another idea I have is to create a full page slideshow that showcases not my best work but one photo from each category that will make the viewer want to see what else I can do.

Maybe I could look around and find a moving foreground that changes with the weather. It would change from sun rays, to clouds, to rain, and others.

If I could figure out how to do it, I could maybe take a vector of a camera that flashes and develops (fades in from black) with each photo as it shows a slide show of some of my work. Or I can just have the photo develop without a camera but I think that would be boring.

The last thing I can think of would be having a super-fast slideshow zoom through my best photos. It will maybe make people click on other pages to go find a particular photo and look at it better. The show would go just slow enough that people will see what the subject of the photo is but too fast to really examine or see the photo.

EOC Week 2: 3 Profile Statements

1. I am an artist, photographer, and animal lover. I want to do my part in changing the world for the better by showing that all animals are beautiful and have unique personalities.

2. As a pet photographer, animals are my art and my drive. I want to change the world; one photo at a time. I give a voice to those who cannot speak.

3. As me what I am and I'll say that I'm a compassionate animal that shows off the beauty of life through my career as a pet photographer. I tell animal's stories through my work.

EOC Week 4: Devil Wears Prada - Deeper meaning

The Devil Wears Prada is about a woman who has just graduated with a degree in Journalism and is looking for a job. She’s pretty much given up searching for anymore jobs and decides to try working for a fashion magazine as a last resort. She goes for an interview and very surprisingly gets a job as an assistant to an editor-in-chief.
She did many things wrong for the interview. First, she didn’t do any research about the place she was looking to work at. Next, she didn’t dress right at all. Lastly, she made comments that she shouldn’t have. If she had done her research, she would have dressed in something high fashion that was in season at the time, she would have known the person she would be working for, and she wouldn’t have felt so awkward. When she was talking to the person that interviewed her, she didn’t lie about who she was but the way she answered the questions made her seem totally unprepared (which she was) and very awkward.

I think she got the job from the last comments she made. The boss said something negative about her and she fired back with a confident statement about why she should hire her because she’s smart and a good worker. If she acted like that the whole time and was prepared with the right clothes and research, she probably would’ve gotten the hiring offer before she made the comment. If she had just walked away instead of commenting, she would’ve been a face in a crowd and forgotten the next hour.

EOC Week 3: Deeper Meaning - Swingers

The movie follows a man that is still holding on to a girl that broke up with him. He can’t move on with his life but his friends try to help him to by taking him out. When they go out, the guys are networking and talking to a bunch of different people about their jobs and what ever else they do in life. The movie shows how not to approach people and also the opposite. It also shows the personal growth that the main character goes through. Eventually, he’s able to let go of the past and find a girl to be with. Even if he didn’t find that girl, he still seemed to be able to move on. This movie shows not only how to pick up girls, but also how to do job interviews and meet people with confidence.
